Following the release of Daddy's For a Second Time (a collaboration with Will Kimbrough on the 17th of July through Proper here in The UK Tommy Womack embarks on a solo UK
Will Kimbrough and Tommy Womack both boast amazing underground resumes. Kimbrough (2005 Americana Music Association Instrumentalist of the Year) and Womack (Two-time winner of the Nashville Scene Best Song Award) first came together in 1992 in the bis-quits. They discovered a musical and personal kinship which they have struggled amongst other commitments – to get back to. With the breakup of the bis-quits in 1994, Kimbrough went on to be lead guitarist in Todd Snider & the Nervous Wrecks, since producing several of Snider’s records, and toured extensively with Rodney Crowell. Tommy Womack is touring Solo in the UK In August starting at Belladrum Festival on August 7th. Publicity Rob Ellen www.medicinemusic.co.uk

Michael Weston King returns for three shows and radio sessions to help launch The Belladrum Festival Tartan Heart Fringe.

Michael Weston King is widely acknowledged as one of Britain's finest singer songwriters, Admired by the likes of Chris Hillman, Ron Sexsmith, and the legendary Townes van Zandt (who recorded one of his songs), he draws his influence from a wide range of styles, from Pop to Folk, from Country to Soul, from Gospel to Blues.
He is the former leader of U.K. Alt Country pioneers The Good Sons, with whom he made 4 critically acclaimed albums in a seven year career, which was recently celebrated by the double album, Cosmic Fireworks - The Best of The Good Sons (1994-2001).
MOJO magazine wrote "The band who must rate as England's very own Uncle Tupelo. A truly thrilling collection.", while Americana-uk.com said "The British band that played alt. country before anyone knew what the hell it was. Had the Good Sons done this same thing across the Atlantic, they would surely have been acclaimed trailblazers."
For the past six years he has been a solo troubadour, touring all over the world, performing with the likes of Nick Cave, John Cale, Roger McGuinn, Steve Earle, Guy Clark, Chris Hillman, Ron Sexsmith, Steve Forbert, Son Volt, and many more, and releasing five beautiful, articulate albums along the way.
As fine a singer songwriter as Gram Parsons’ CHRIS HILLMAN

Medicine Music,Nevis Radio On Line, and Square Wheels Cycles.Eliza Gilkyson Trio http://www.elizagilkyson.com
Eliza played her first ever UK shows in the Highlands, so its fitting that she brings her Festival Combo to Scotland for the first time to open up the Tartan Heart Fringe for this exclusive Scottish Show.
Austin-based singer/songwriter Eliza Gilkyson grew up in Los Angeles, the daughter of successful songwriter Terry Gilkyson. Her rather musical upbringing included demos that Eliza recorded of her father's work, as well as other musical ventures. She moved to New Mexico in the late 1960s, where she began performing and touring regionally with the Ark Band.
She later moved to Europe to work with composer Andreas Vollenweider. Returning to the States in the late 1990s, Gilkyson began releasing a series of critically acclaimed solo albums. She also started her own label (Realiza Records) in 1999. A year later, she released an album on Red House Records, for whom she's recorded ever since.
In all, Gilkyson has released 14 CDs. She was inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame. Her album Land of Milk and Honey was nominated for a Grammy Award.
Tim Scott takes his place among those who have come before him—the ones who supported and guided him on his journey.—Dan Fogelberg, John Lennon, George Harrison and Warren Zevon. The lyrics say it all, There’s a common thread between us though we often stumble, we rarely fall.” That common thread is the ability to take a handful of words, a few chords and a shitload of honesty to grab people right where they live.

The Medicine Show Film Nights at The Coffee Shop Strathpeffer.
Staring Martin Stephenson (of The Daintees) and Harold Lloyd (of Hollywood)The Strathpeffer Coffee Shop, has become not only a destination and venue for teas coffees confectionaries and fine snack meals but has also become a destination and venue for lovers of the classic Silent Movies.
Mark Monahan proprietor of the coffee shop is a silent movie buff and has combined his love of good food with his interest in the early flicks, by way of installing a big screen and a discreet projector, so his customers can enjoy the wonders of classic moving picture shows unfolding in all their hilarity, while they have their lunch/dinner or knicker boker glory.
Rob Ellen Medicine Music purveyor of fine music for over 25 years, was partaking of the later, when a horse draw Medicine Show came into panoramic view on the big screen driven by comic genius Harold Lloyd, the germ of this idea was formed in the germ of his mind and gestated properly when next talking to friend Martin Stephenson songster and these days our leading exponent of 20's old-timey style thumb pick guitar. Martin readily agreed to take on the task of providing the sound track to the movie and a special performance was scheduled for July the 9th 7.30 pm. The evening will entail the movie in the first half (around 50 mins) and Martins concert set in the second part tickets are limited to 30 people at £8 available from the Coffee shop and at www.medicinemusic.co.uk
This will be the first one of what is hoped will be monthly film nights, the second already scheduled for July 25th with Cara Luft (Wailing Jenny's) and Buster Keaton (Hollywood Legend), we will not be announcing the film in advance so as to add to the suspense and impromptu atmosphere and to discourage audiences from acquainting themselves with the films on line.
Tickets £8 http://web2.nessmp3.com/bands/255/event.php
Mark has also thrown down the gauntlet to any local musicians that fancies trying their hand with a movie, if your interested phone him on 01997 421500
